Arthritis Management

Osteoarthritis Management

Arthritis or osteoarthritis in pets can be managed in many ways.

Weight control is crucial for pain management as excess weight places more strain on inflamed painful joints.

Historically, veterinarians have used NSAIDs or non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as the cornerstone of treatment. There are many other types of analgesics available to veterinarians these days that can be used in synergy with NSAIDs. Ask us about the different types of analgesic medication now available. We think Previcox is a fantastic OA medication for the relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis in pets.

Pentosan is a fantastic monthly injection for osteoarthritis. We use cartrophen vet as a weekly injection for four weeks and then monthly.

We recommend 4CYTE as a neutroceutical as a preventative and therapy for OA. It contains epitalis that can help regeneration of cartilage as well as abalone shell and green lip muscle.

Fish oil is also helpful of joint pain and the crippling effects of osteoarthritis. Omega 3 found in fish oil is nature's natural anti-inflammatory.

We are now using K-laser therapy for osteoarthritis. It has amazing analgesic effects. We highly recommend it.

We also use stem cell therapy and platelet rich plasma therapy for pain relief and osteoarthritis treatment.

Make sure you try the revolutionary new product called Antinol. This is a wonderful anti inflammatory drug that has no side effects. It is very safe and very effective.
