Your pet can’t tell you when it has a throbbing
toothache, so it has to suffer in silence.

If you neglect your pet’s dental health they can experience tooth decay, sensitivity or inflammation. It can damage their health or even shorten their life.

Preventative dental care for your pet can feel like a low priority. But, without regular check-ups, they could be suffering unnecessarily. Decay and lost teeth can lead to bad breath, eating problems, weight loss and one unhappy pet.

We know there’s more to good pet dental care than fresh breath, healthy gums and a movie star smile. It can actually improve your pet’s quality of life.

Bringing advanced dental diagnosis &
treatment to the South West

Treendale Pet Medical Veterinary Hospital is one of the few practices in the South West that offers accurate diagnosis of pet dental problems using advanced 3D imaging. Our on-site dentistry includes:

Dental Health Check-ups

Don’t wait until your pet has a problem before you get their dental health checked. It’s safer, kinder and cheaper for your pet to have annual (age 2-8) or biannual (age 8+), check-ups and cleans to keep them healthy.

Advanced Imaging

From x-rays to CT scans and 3D coloured imaging and modelling – we offer advanced, accurate imaging to detect and treat dental decay, diseases and lesions. We can also identify future dental needs

Dental Surgery

If your pet needs dental surgery, we have an on-site surgeon – Dr Rob – and we have fully equipped sterile operating theatres. Your pet can be diagnosed and treated all under one roof.

Dental Nerve Blocks

Minimising your pet’s distress when we treat them is a top priority in our fear-free hospital. We use dental nerve blocks to ensure pain-free extractions and greater comfort during recovery

Would never go anywhere else! So helpful, informative and best of all our fur babies are happy to go here.
Not even a whimper today when they both had their injections.

Healthy teeth and gums make for happier pets

If it’s hard to snuggle up with your pet because their breath is unbearable – there’s a good chance they’re suffering from painful tooth
decay or dental disease. We prefer to keep your pet happy with preventative care, but we can also help with:

  • Cleaning & polishing
  • Dental extractions
  • Dental disease
  • Gum disease
  • Oral cancers
  • Abscesses

Poor dental hygiene can cause major health problems affecting your pet’s heart, liver and lungs.

What to expect

# 1

Your pet undergoes a thorough, gentle oral examination with one of our vets.

If your pet has only mild build-up we may recommend a scale and polish under very light general anaesthesia for accurate and safe dentistry.

What to expect

# 2

Teeth are like icebergs in that a lot of the problems may be below the surface. Sometimes imaging is required. We can investigate using x-rays, CT scans or the latest 3D colour imaging – all available on site.

What to expect

# 3

Your vet will share your pet’s results with you, explain what they mean, offer honest advice about treatment options and answer any questions you have.

What to expect

# 4

We’ll agree on a treatment plan that will be carried out on site and
may include the following:

  • Dental surgery
  • Cancer surgery
  • Clean and polish

What to expect

# 5

If your pet requires anaesthesia or surgery, they will recover in one of our specially designed fear-free pet wards until they are ready to go home
