The Incident

More Labrador mayhem with “The Wonderful World of Ingested Colonic Malapropos”. Let’s hear it for Hudson. Hudson wins a night in hospital on an IV and a place in late Night Legends Infamy as a Labrador influencer.

Hudson’s mum was very worried. He disappeared for a short while on a walk around the back blocks of Kingston. When a Labrador picks up a trail, you know it’s going to end in reverse peristalsis and hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. This time it was slightly different however. Hudson had been straining all afternoon and vomited six times.

Dr Rob was called into action yet again to assess a solemn lab with a painful belly. For those that are following Late Night Legends are well aware, Dr Rob has vast experience in dealing with Labradorean ingesta and associated catastrophes. Cool as a cucumber, Dr Rob palpated the abdomen to find a colon full of inappropriate objects.

The Assignment

Hudson had been vomiting several times during the afternoon and his owner had noticed him straining to try and defaecate. Dr Rob could feel a very enlarged colon full of the kind of stuff that colon’s were simply not designed to have to deal with.

An X-ray confirmed copious bones, hair and skin that had intertwined into a reticulated and compacted impenetrable colonic obstruction.

Yes we had it all…..a Labradorean cuisine of choice from the bill of fare of the Kingston swamp. Such items included a conglomerate of concrete hard stool, bones, animal hair and other assorted surprises yet to be determined.

The density of the bone would suggest the sun dried rabbit carcass containing teeth, a selection of long bones as well as vertebrae and the flat bones of the skull interweaved with the hide and hair of the rabbit with a side salad of putrid organs.

Yes this was one lucky find for our late night legends social media star. Of course the entire recently deceased bunny was consumed quickly before mummy had a chance to know.

The Outcome

Hudson was placed onto an IV and given antiemetic medication to stop him vomiting. He underwent a rather lengthy and involved colonic enema to remove the concrete-like debris obstructing his colon. Hudson won a T-Shirt and a night in hospital on an IV for his starring role in “Late Night Legends”. His recovery was unremarkable and he was discharged to go home with his loving family.
