When you take your pet to the veterinarian, you may wonder what to expect. The veterinarian will likely ask you about your pet’s history and any current problems you’ve been noticing. They will then physically examine your pet, which may include taking their temperature and weight and looking in their mouth. Depending on what they find, the veterinarian may recommend some tests, such as blood work or x-rays. Once the veterinarian is diagnosed, they will discuss treatment options with you.
If you have never been to the vet before, or it has been a while, you should know a few things before going. First, make sure to have all of your pet’s pertinent information handy. This includes their name, age, breed, and any medical conditions they have. You will also need to know what type of insurance you have for your pet. Finally, be prepared to answer questions about your pet’s diet, exercise routine, and bathroom habits.

Cats, dogs and many other animals see ultraviolet light so, for them, white appears like a glowing neon violet. Sounds terrifying doesn’t it?
We’ve decorated our spaces using calming shades of cream and other fear-free colours instead.
Our team is trained in gentle animal handling to help your pet feel safe. We know things like needles can be scary, so we’re skilled at distracting animals before an injection.
We make sure they never see a needle.

Your pet may not understand how our modern, state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and highly skilled team can help them get better faster.
But they do know that they love gentle care, cuddles and, of course, tasty treats. That’s why our appointments feel less like a visit to the vet and more like a playdate.
Meet our TeamWhen Dr Rob Hill started his career in 1996, it was common for vets to be all-rounders. He treated a variety of animals, injuries and health conditions. And he gained experience in veterinary practices across Australia and around the world.
Dr Rob has been treating pets in the Bunbury region since 2002, when he took over Australind Veterinary Hospital. Over the years, his vision for a progressive, pet-centred, bespoke veterinary hospital began to take shape.
After growing the Australind practice to bursting point with the help of our award-winning team, he and his wife Lisa opened the doors to Treendale Pet Medical Veterinary Hospital in 2017.
